Permaquip is proud to announce that its innovative Electric Power Pack has now been officially approved for use across the UK rail network.
The only electric pump that is Product Approved to be compliantly used with Permaquip’s captive Stressing equipment, this new model enables precise adjustment of rail gaps for critical tasks such as rail stressing, welding, failure repairs and the installation of insulated joints.
Building on the trusted design of the Petrol Power Pack, the Electric model retains the same robust pump and control configuration while introducing a zero-carbon emission operation engine – a significant step forward in sustainable rail maintenance.
Benefits include:
- Zero-emission operation, helping reduce environmental impact.
- Lower HAV levels and reduced noise levels – retaining Class-Leading low noise levels – promoting a safer and quieter work environment.
- Consistent performance, with a runtime exceeding 30 minutes continuous cyclic use.
- Available with lifting handles, wheeled frame and optional Magic Handle, enhancing manual handling and operator safety.
- Improving safety on track with a high-visibility powder coating, and available with new high visibility stressing hoses and high visibility storage bag.
This new solution reflects Permaquip’s commitment to cleaner, quieter, and more efficient rail maintenance, supporting both operational excellence and environmental responsibility.
Scott Harrison, Chairman of Permaquip said: ‘The approval of our Electric Power Pack for use in the UK rail industry marks an important milestone for Permaquip. By combining the proven reliability of our technology with a zero‑emission engine, we hope to be able to help rail colleagues work safely towards a more sustainable future.
‘This innovation reflects our commitment to supporting the industry’s transition toward cleaner operations while maintaining the highest standards of performance on track.’
